computer and technology in the modern world â€‹

During quarter 1 in this class, I've learned about Digital Citizenship, Internet Technology, Hardware Basics and Components and Counting Systems. At first, I was very confused and think that this is a very hard subject, but as the time goes by, everything got better. Quizlet is very helpful to me, I use it to review all topics before the exam and it helps me remember. The most challenging topic is probably Digital Citizenship about the private, public and normal key. It's very confusing to me. I think that the most useful topic to me is the hardware basics, this could be very helpful to buy the computer in the future. I get to know about how does computer works, what is inside the computer or how to CPU process everything. Personally, learning about the counting systems and converting numbers went very well. All you need to do is to understand how to steps of converting works and you'll be able to solve all of the problems. In the next quarter, I would study harder and try to understand everything better.

Quarter 2

In this quarter, we learned about the algorithm thinking, which is to think through precise steps to complete a set of instructions,  as well as the basic coding and programming by using the Scratch program. We learned how to use repeating blocks, loops, variables, operators, conditionals to make more advanced programs to create games and projects. The contents of this quarter was more complex than the last quarter, which i found quite challenging and very hard for me to understand, but with the help of my friends explaining things and help me with the confusing things. I started to gain more improvement. As a group, we made two games from Scratch program. The first one was Space Game that we have to control the spaceship to collect stars and away from space rock. Another one is Augmented Reality game called "Don't touch the red line". In this game, players have to move their body to collect the money falling from above to prevent it from touching the lower line. It was very fun creating these games and i've gained new experience. I'm looking forward to start the Python programming next quarter.

Python Poster

We made a poster to summarize what we've learned and know about Python in this quarter. First, we learned about syntax, basic inputs, and variables, and then we learned about the while and for loops, so that we don't need to repeat the same code over and over again. Secondly, we learned how to use the turtle library to create graphics, such as stars, square, hexagon and pentagon, and Lastly, we made quizzes app by using EasyGui, and the commands such as ynbox, enter box, and msgbox.

Python Turtle Assignment

We can import libraries of codes that other programmers have created to use in python program. In this work, we used the turtle library, which is used to create graphics by using the command "import turtle". We can use turtle to draw from square to more complicated shapes like flowers or stars, also as filling in the color we want. I used this to draw my name and class using different colors

ESLOs: Innovative thinkers; we used our own creativity to create original work and Strategic learners by using technology to create work.
